The last 2 days have been spent getting ready for my Night on the Avenue. I was invited to be the featured artisan of the night at the cutest shabby chic shop I have ever been in. <br />
<br />
It's called the apple box boutique and tomorrow I will tell you all about it. In the meantime, here's a little picture to show off my crafts. <br />
<br />

I know I have been gone of late and I just want to reassure you all that it has been for good reason!<br />
<br />
Last Thursday, I spontaneously decided to pack up and head on south to the old farmstead where I was raised. The kids were wanting to see Grandma, and I was lucky enough to have a extra days off from the day-home.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: red;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The break was much needed!<span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">Going back home to the country is like a breath of fresh air for me. {though the air isn't always so fresh near the cow's feeding manger... haha} Unfortunately I took very few pictures. I really just enjoyed my time with my family. Everyone was home, all 5 siblings of mine with spouse/kids in tow. It's trips like that, that make me think of moving out of the city....</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">One of the days I was home, my mom, my sister and I {plus 2 kids}, went on a little shopping trip {it was really little for me anyways! ;P}. We stopped by a few of our favorite shops, but the best part of it all was when we went down memory lane to the house my mom had graduated high school from. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></span><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHDP1R06zJjcRj7qjpevoDUyx2jNlYBqJMxpPJGvfDVoVJgY0cmi22gjPmCKW935e5HRCUMkCgb0h4AxaQ9JQosO5EEQ7wG2AcLGTp9ujHepbAQ2yzaSenCICclZVY6dLXpr2bHms8zfJl/s1600/2012-04-27_1335542979.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHDP1R06zJjcRj7qjpevoDUyx2jNlYBqJMxpPJGvfDVoVJgY0cmi22gjPmCKW935e5HRCUMkCgb0h4AxaQ9JQosO5EEQ7wG2AcLGTp9ujHepbAQ2yzaSenCICclZVY6dLXpr2bHms8zfJl/s400/2012-04-27_1335542979.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The House</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">My mom said that her whole family was excited to move there as it was the first house they had lived in that had a dishwasher! </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">I am sucker for old stories so I soaked up every word as she related who lived next to her, where she had a car crash {and which cute boys saved her} and how my grandparents purchased the house for only $39,000!!!! </span></span><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"></span></span><br />
<br />
While home, I was also able to get my creative juices going... and here is where the sneak preview comes in! I am designing a family wall collage for a friend of mine. Aside from just pictures, she wants vinyl lettering on her wall, which is where I come in.<b>I have been cutting and designing with vinyl for almost 4 years now</b>! Wow that seems crazy. <br />
<br />
Anyways, I am really excited about this project. It is quite an undertaking as the wall is a good 15ft long I think. Here are a few pictures of the process so far...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLLDWLtq-UOdNrjB-dcvBFkOvQdGPHm4-oNp_qGI9CvPiZo02kTSsjVATFNNZ_fP5qYvA8whJNV27EnoYcVYF3hBZwQ2cCx5MPx62vg-KCELuJbstTp0wogAMGBFgqiZb-4l0V0LnbLQTP/s1600/2012-04-29_1335658509.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLLDWLtq-UOdNrjB-dcvBFkOvQdGPHm4-oNp_qGI9CvPiZo02kTSsjVATFNNZ_fP5qYvA8whJNV27EnoYcVYF3hBZwQ2cCx5MPx62vg-KCELuJbstTp0wogAMGBFgqiZb-4l0V0LnbLQTP/s400/2012-04-29_1335658509.jpg" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is my favorite area so far; I made the square words to match the size of the frames. The tricky part was coming up with 4 letter words relating to family!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcTBDzFCd2QI95Oz5uPFdrey1V6hxKFpM4ZN_pPA5DFliZbtwoCiBoOSsM3p3Kwu52u9rkjt8tcOeCAmegdXfkrxvNUbUZcauCZpZwyCyOqZzhyOlczqDo_sMvLYITvfcn-FqZSX3SntJb/s1600/2012-04-29_1335660567.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcTBDzFCd2QI95Oz5uPFdrey1V6hxKFpM4ZN_pPA5DFliZbtwoCiBoOSsM3p3Kwu52u9rkjt8tcOeCAmegdXfkrxvNUbUZcauCZpZwyCyOqZzhyOlczqDo_sMvLYITvfcn-FqZSX3SntJb/s400/2012-04-29_1335660567.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Here is a wider view of a section of the wall. The paper is where words are yet to be placed.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi91OeRsi6Es6-GNvJKFnKL97TuFBXhV1aZ4jUBiDM6IS5_FP7pYjwjNyiuWbnmbBNdCKEEH8YiTDbQTgewehwb92QixCJGX-1DrmqA3-Bx3AtxsqLq_YvWL86ggI_jswHv-ZkQ10cxsErS/s1600/2012-04-29_1335660591.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi91OeRsi6Es6-GNvJKFnKL97TuFBXhV1aZ4jUBiDM6IS5_FP7pYjwjNyiuWbnmbBNdCKEEH8YiTDbQTgewehwb92QixCJGX-1DrmqA3-Bx3AtxsqLq_YvWL86ggI_jswHv-ZkQ10cxsErS/s400/2012-04-29_1335660591.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Lucky for me, my friend had another section of the wall in this format! :) This project has definitely given me inspiration to get my own walls painted!<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Don't worry! I will post more of 'the wall' as I work on finishing it!</span><br />
<br />

<span style="color: black;">Happy Spring Day!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: black;">It is time to cheer you up from your midweek slump! I want to <a href="http://sewseraphic.blogspot.ca/2012/04/is-this-what-you-imagined-part-1.html" target="_blank">continue on from my last post (part 1 here)</a> about Living the Life you have Imagined. I originally planned to post this on Monday, but it has been a real challenge for me to write. Last post, I talked about Living the Life you have imagined and ended with asking this question:</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue; font-size: large;">What is the life you have always dreamed of having? </span></span><br />
<div style="color: blue;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijj0RcVF-PvZ_9O4JyZQjhixQQtbAC57_493wJNqW-0rv6XFQfaFK8eo_YtvkVs2R57yQHcyCgcLtDoN9uKecxP5TqrNZyE0OWy02ZfPwDdyR5lIDv_J_lgC9a7K0s9w62j6jFz4GWuRwN/s1600/dream-life.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijj0RcVF-PvZ_9O4JyZQjhixQQtbAC57_493wJNqW-0rv6XFQfaFK8eo_YtvkVs2R57yQHcyCgcLtDoN9uKecxP5TqrNZyE0OWy02ZfPwDdyR5lIDv_J_lgC9a7K0s9w62j6jFz4GWuRwN/s320/dream-life.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: black;">For me this was more difficult to answer than I thought. Hence why it has taken me the last week and a half to write! <span style="font-size: small;">I have always just taken life as it came at me, without a plan, going where ever the wind blows.</span><b><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></b></span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: black;"><b><span style="font-size: small;">With some intense thought, I found three steps to getting my perfect life: </span></b></span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: black;"><b><span style="font-size: small;">1. Write a list of everything I want in life (the hardest part for me) </span></b></span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: black;"><b><span style="font-size: small;">2. Using that list to imagine the most perfect day of all.</span></b></span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: black;"><b><span style="font-size: small;">3. After writing out the above 2, then follow this advice:</span></b></span></span></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;">Live the Life you Imagined and </span><b style="color: red;"><i>Live it Right Now</i></b>.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<b><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: small;">The
sooner you start living and acting like you already have your dream
life, the sooner it actually comes true. </span></span></span></b><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: small;">For next 2 weeks of my life I am going to be writing out what I do want. I say 2 weeks because that seems kind of reasonable for me. Though I hope to get it done sooner. Like Today. </span></span></span><br />
<div style="color: black;">

<br />
This year, Earth Day kind of sneaked up on me. Regardless, I am all about making the earth a better place to live for my kids, so I thought I would share some fun ways that you can make your community, home and earth a little better.<br />
<br />
Each of these activities can be done with children as well, which makes them that much more awesome. <b>If we don't teach our children to help keep the earth cleaner, who will?</b><br />
<br />
Anyways, onto my list. A few are my own ideas, the rest come from <a href="http://www.earthday.ca/pub/" target="_blank">Earth Day Canada website</a>, where they also have a sweet free calendar with each day having an earth day activity on it. <b>You can find that <a href="http://www.earthday.ca/pub/resources/downloads/" target="_blank">Freebie Here</a>.</b><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">My Top 10 ways to make the Earth Greener:</span><b> </b><br />
<br />
<b>1. Get involved in recycling.</b> I am sure a lot of people do this already, but I want to focus more on teaching my kids about the purpose behind recycling and show them items that we use everyday because someone has recycled. <b>Set up a station where your kids can put the different items to be recycled and when it is recycling day, have them help you take it out.</b><br />
<br />
<b>2. Get and Use a Library Card</b>. My son LOVES to read and I love that. However, buying books gets expensive! Most libraries (like <a href="http://www.epl.ca/" target="_blank">Edmonton Public</a>) will give free ones to kids. That's an easy way to opt out of having to pay renewal fees.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.blogger.com/goog_1239497103" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="187" src="https://encrypted-tbn1.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQkBkHdz0N2aiucc7ZLyDgcXObNDjY36dw2cJrZUx5po5XbhiaQkw" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.epl.ca/" target="_blank">SOURCE: Edmonton Public Library</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Plus as you can see from the above image of Edmonton Public Library Cards; they aren't just for old people anymore. The library has a new campaign, by <a href="http://www.donovancreative.com/" target="_blank">Donovan Creative</a> (my dream job FYI) that shows all the possibilities that a library card can hold. My favorite is "I'm an Information Ninja".<br />
<br />
Aside from their cool new logo and library cards, Edmonton Public Library and most other libraries I think, have fun kid friendly events; book readings, movie outings, and playgroups too. To be honest, I could go on and on about the library's awesomeness for quite a while! <br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>3. Clean your Local Park.</b> When your done, admire your work and have a picnic! All you need is a few big garbage bags, gloves and away you go! It's fun and easy for your kids to be involved in too.<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>4. Plant a Garden.</b> This is our first year to plant a garden in our new home and the whole family is excited. There are a lot of online resources for how to plant one, regardless of where you live. If you can't plant one, then there are <b>community gardens</b>, you can get involved in as well. Planting a garden is so great for kids in so many ways; teaching healthier eating habits, where food comes from, and responsibility {weeding}.<br />

<b><br /></b><br />
<b>5. Use Pencil Crayons.</b> A little known fact, I just learned myself, is that <i>crayons take at least a century to decompose! </i>Who knew! Personally, I prefer pencil crayons anyways, they seem to color smoother.<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>6. Save Energy by:</b> keeping unused items unplugged {phone chargers, stereos etc} when not in use, keeping the lights off during daylight hours as well as when you are not in that room, use cold water for laundry, and much more. Check out <a href="http://guelph.ca/living.cfm?itemid=78786&smocid=2127" target="_blank">Guelph</a> and <a href="http://www.saskenergy.com/saving_energy/tips.asp" target="_blank">Government</a> websites for 100s of more ideas.<br />
<br />
<b>7. Think about your Water Consumption.</b> How can you use less? Ideas such as; not running the dishwasher or clothes washer until they are full, and collecting rain water for your garden are just a few ideas. More can be found <a href="http://www.wateruseitwisely.com/100-ways-to-conserve/index.php" target="_blank">here</a> and <a href="http://www.blogger.com/goog_1239497137">here.</a> <b>Tell your kids why we need to conserve water, information is power!</b><br />
<br />
<b>8. Use re-usable bags for groceries.</b> We all know this, but I think we need to let our kids in on why we use them. For ideas, check out the site <a href="http://www.reusethisbag.com/25-reasons-to-go-reusable.asp" target="_blank">Re-Use This Bag</a>. For preschool aged children, like mine, these ideas can seem a little bit to hard to understand. However, you can show videos about the effects of pollution, and talk about how plastic bags can cause some animals, like birds, to choke.<br />
<b><br /></b><br />
<b>9. Have a Clothing Swap. </b>It's cheap, fun and a great excuse for a play-date! Use your other worn out clothes for cleaning rags.<br />
<br />
<b>10. Make crafts from items around your home.</b> This is more geared to kids, but it is also a great way to save money on activities for kids to do. Check online, or the library for books with kids crafts.<br />
<br />
I found this great quote when collecting the information in this list, I think it sums up why we should work harder to make our Earth better:<br />
<div style="color: blue;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div style="color: blue; text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors;</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b style="color: blue;"><span style="font-size: large;"> we borrow it from our children" </span></b></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<span style="font-size: small;">What are you going to change?</span></div>

</div>
<br />
Good Day Friends! <br />
I am having the most difficult time trying to decide what dress to sew. There are so many! I think I will just have to sew them all! hehe!<br />
<br />
It's deciding what dress shall be first that I am the most indecisive about. I haven't sewn a dress or skirt in years, so I actually feel a little nervous! I have spent most of my time sewing bags, home decor items and things for my kids. Which is why I think it is a good idea to start with something a little simpler; just so I can keep motivated! So here for your viewing pleasure are some more of my favorite dress tutorials.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

I really love how simple this dress is from <a href="http://asmallsnippet.blogspot.ca/" target="_blank">A Small Snippet</a>. Instead of a tank top though, I would use a t-shirt. <a href="http://asmallsnippet.blogspot.ca/2011/09/wanna-make-dress.html" target="_blank">The tutorial </a>shows options for a longer dress or a shorter dress. Plus it has a little how-to included for using elastic thread. I think this would be a <b>great dress for me</b> to start with. <br />

Another great <a href="http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2010/08/re-purpsoing-womens-knit-shirt-into.html" target="_blank">re-purpose dress tutorial</a> from <a href="http://www.makeit-loveit.com/" target="_blank">Make it and Love it</a>. This blog has so many great tutorials, <b>I could just spend hours there</b>. I love that this dress tutorial doesn't have gathers all the way around the waste. They are in the front and back, which result in a slimming look. <br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The two dresses above are the <b>coolest re-purposed dresses</b> I have seen from a blog called <a href="http://everythingemmetaylor.blogspot.ca/" target="_blank">Everything Emme</a>. The first one is a <a href="http://everythingemmetaylor.blogspot.ca/2012/04/old-town-spring-ii.html" target="_blank">mu-mu redo</a>, which I just love, because mu-mus often come in wild colors. The second one, a <a href="http://everythingemmetaylor.blogspot.ca/2012/04/easter-dress-refashion.html" target="_blank">modest vintage dress redo</a>, reminds me of living in southern Alberta. haha!<br />
<br />
I feel like they are one of those things were you see something and are like <b><i>Duh! Why didn't I think of that??</i></b> Really, I want to go to Value Village right now and find a dress to tinker with and re-invent. Coolest idea ever. Period! To see more great treats like this, head over to the blog! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Of course, there are a huge number of dress patterns (like the one above) that I can find from Simplicity, McCalls and Burda. I think I will go look there next...<br />

The week is half way over! :)<br />
<br />
Since I have become quite an Instagram fanatic, my camera has been put to rest. I discovered a recent problem however when I wanted to use my Instagram photos on my blog, for digital scrapbooking and printing.<br />
<br />
Try as I may, getting my photos out of my Instagram profile was tricky. After looking online for a while, I found a site called <a href="http://instaport.me/" target="_blank">Instaport</a>. It is fool proof to use. All you need to do is use your login info from Instagram, then follow a few simple directions to download your photos to your computer.<br />
<br />
There is one problem thus far though, and that is every time you export your photos, you export ALL of them. It's a minor detail really, but can be kind of annoying.I have to admit it's not that big of a deal to keep me from using Instagram...<br />
<br />
I recently hit up our local thrift store, Value Village and found some great home decor items to go along with my retro inspired 'front parlor'. Of course I used Instagram to capture the vintage feeling of everything.<br />
<br />

I really love old books; the feel, look and smell. Weird I know, get over it! Ha! I struck gold with this book published in 1951 appropriately titled "The Girl's Daily Life" for only $5. Inside are some great and hilarious insights into the expectations for girls in the 1950s. As I read more into it, I will be sure to share!<br />

This great little clock was just sitting on an edge shelf waiting for me to come by. It's bright orange, which adds the right punch of color to the room. All for $7. I found a similar one <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/90600804/retro-classic-design-blue-metal-alarm" target="_blank">Here</a>, on Etsy for $20! <br />

At first glance, I thought that this mirror belonged atop a vanity. After I pulled it out, I realized I was wrong. I love the curvy lines of the frame. At $30, I almost put it back, then figured I would likely never see one like it again and brought it home. I plan on painting it a lighter teal color. <br />

<br />
After thinking a long while about this, I have decided that I would like to make Mondays my motivational/inspirational thought day. Mondays are often hard for me; I don't like to wake up and get back to work, <i>even though </i>I work at home. I tend to need a little more encouragement today than other days. Also, since I love graphic design, I will often incorporate that as well into the posts by offering a freebie to go along with my thoughts.<br />
<br />
To start, I want to let you all know that I have had severe postpartum depression. It is something that I will likely talk about more, as it has continued to really affect my life. I don't know that I can call it postpartum anymore as my youngest is almost 2 now. Still I rely on medication and therapy to help me through. I am not stating this for anyone to feel sorry for me; but for others to know that it's OK if they have it too and this is a place that will be safe and accepting if you feel like sharing as well.<br />
<br />
Anyways, I have given a lot of thought to the place I am at in my life and having had a really long hard winter with my depression, I am ready to look for ways to feel more motivated. What I found was this quote, that I try to say to myself everyday now:<br />
<div style="font-family: inherit;">
<br /></div>
<h1 style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; margin: 0pt;">
<span style="font-size: large;">“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” <span style="font-size: small;">~Henry David Thoreau</span></span></h1>
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The part</span> I want to focus on today is the "Live the life you have imagined" part.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: blue;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">So, what does a dream life look like?</span></b></div>
<span style="font-size: small;">I find it is pretty hard to have the life you have always wanted if you don't know what you want. Of late I have felt very unhappy. Bored with my life even. This is in part due to depression, but one day it dawned on me; I had the life that I wanted when I was 20 years old. Seven years later I was living it, but I wasn't happy. Now What? </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-size: large;">Time To Change</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Knowing I am not happy is the first step to changing my life. Growing up, </span><span style="font-size: small;">all I knew was that I wanted </span>a wonderful husband, a home, and children. I have been <span style="color: red;">extremely blessed</span> to receive all those things <b>but I never stopped to think about ME.</b><br />
<br />
What I mean by that, is that I have never really thought about what I want for myself from life. I have always assumed that my life would be fulfilling as I went day to day as a wife and mother. Now I don't want those who are reading this, who are fulfilled in those things, to think I am coming down on them. There is no greater role than a mother, but I need more and there is nothing wrong with that. I have an overwhelming desire to be creative, and make a difference in the world. Thus far I haven't been doing anything to actualize that.<br />
<br />
I need to know what I want for myself to get that dream life...<br />
<br />
<div style="color: blue;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Then in order to have the life you imagined, you need to <b style="color: red;"><i>Live it Right Now</i></b>. <span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: black;">Use your daily life to build yourself to where you have always wanted to be, whether that's a savvy business owner, a marathon runner, or owning an extravagant home by the beach. You can start the road to all those things TODAY and everyday after that.</span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: small;">In my next post I am going to go into more detail about what I want my life to look like, and how I can live Right Now. In the meantime, think about this yourself:</span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;">What does your dream life look like?</span></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">PS... A freebie will accompany part 2! </span> </span></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;">xoxo</span></span></span></span></div>

Let me preface a little by saying that my son has quite a large vocabulary for a 4 year old. This could be because he learned how to talk before walk and maybe have something to do with the fact that his father teaches him to use words like "chambers" instead of bedroom.<br />
<br />
Anyways, our conversation went something like this: <br />
Mr. O: Mom, what are we having for supper?<br />
<br />
Me: Hmmm, I'm not sure <i>(look at the clock and realize it's 5pm</i>). What do you want?<br />
<br />
Mr. O: I want taquitos!! <i>(His eyes light up and he bounces as he says taquitos) </i><br />
<br />
Me: Taquitos?<br />
<br />
Mr. O: Yeah! Mom, can we PLEASE have taquitos?<br />
<br />
Me: Well we usually only eat taquitos on special days, and today isn't really a special day.<br />
<br />
Mr. O: <i>(Looking rather serious)</i> Mom, EVERY DAY is a special day.<br />
<br />
<i>Ouch! Touche Son!</i><br />
<i> </i>Me: You got me there, I guess we are having taquitos for supper then.<br />
<br />
Mr. O walked away smiling, rather proud of himself, while I was left pondering just how smart my son really is and where on earth did that come from??<br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div style="color: purple;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I feel kind of funky today; you know where you are not quite grumpy or sad, just offish?</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.liesyoungwomenbelieve.com/assets/images/bad%20day.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://www.liesyoungwomenbelieve.com/assets/images/bad%20day.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.liesyoungwomenbelieve.com/index.php?id=689" target="_blank"><span style="color: black;">SOURCE</span></a></div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="color: blue; font-size: large;">Yea. That's me. Today.</span> I contemplated not blogging today because of my mood, until my mom suggested that I blog about being positive {while having no idea just funky I am}. As I scoffed to myself, I realized she was right and that if I wanted to get out of a funk, I need to actually do something about it, which is not easy for me to do or admit. <br />
<br />
So I thought back to a <a href="http://www.thetinytwig.com/2012/04/05/how-to-create-your-own-inspiration/" target="_blank">really great article</a> I read from a blog called <a href="http://www.thetinywig.com/" target="_blank">The Tiny Wig</a>.<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">The blog post is about </span><span style="color: red;">creating your own inspiration</span>. <span style="font-size: small;">Often times it seems that we get caught up chasing everything else in life {runny noses, spilled milk and soccer games} that trying to find inspiration feels a bit ridiculous! I know, I feel like that too sometimes. Today in fact!</span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://thechive.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/inspirational-quotes-21.jpg?w=500" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://thechive.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/inspirational-quotes-21.jpg?w=500" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://thechive.com/2011/08/09/we-could-all-use-a-little-inspiration-right-about-now-32-photos/inspirational-quotes-21/" target="_blank">SOURCE</a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">The truth is that inspiration is all around us, if we just pay attention. I don't just mean inspiration to come up with the hottest new design, or trend, that you can call passion as well; but the kind of inspiration that keeps us going from moment to moment, day to day. </span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="color: blue;">
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"> <span style="font-size: large;">So what keeps me going?</span></span></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">As I thought about this question, I came to understand that the answer is so much easier than I thought. The things that keep me going are the things that I love and get excited about</span>. <span style="font-size: small;">Such as: my daughter's pigtails, hearing my son play pretend, mountains, the smell of pencil crayons, fabric stores, shopping with my mom and sisters and conversations just before sleeping.</span> </span></span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;">All <span style="font-size: small;">of these things</span> <span style="font-size: small;">make me smile, quicken my heart rate and feel so incredibly happy at the same time that I wish the moment would never end. The only wee problems are that not everyday can be rainbows and cupcakes {I wish it could!} and I can't spend my days smelling pencil crayons without someone getting worried. </span></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://img3.etsystatic.com/il_570xN.325395387.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://img3.etsystatic.com/il_570xN.325395387.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/j2studiosphotography?ref=seller_info" target="_blank">SOURCE> Local Edmonton Photographer!</a></span></span></span></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></span></span></span>
<div style="color: blue;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;">Is there a solution?</span></span></span></span></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">Fortunately yes! The trick is to spend some of your time <span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: red;">CREATING Inspiration</span>.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">After finding the things that I love and keep me going, I can create those moments. I don't have to wait for someone to give them to me. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: red; font-size: large;">And That is Pure Awesome. </span></span></span></span></span></span><br />

The weather managed to get a little warmer here today and as a result I spent too much time looking for a good summer dress pattern. First I looked through all my own patterns, and after feeling slightly confused about my previous taste in dresses, I decided to hit up old google and check out some of my favorite blogs.<br />
<br />
The results were stupendous!<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I am always so impressed by the amount of creativity out there and forever thankful that I have the internet to access that creativity!</span><br />
<br />
I found a so many easy to follow/do tutorials for dresses and I thought I would share the wealth. Enjoy and Please check out the blogs that go with each tutorial they are all super amazing.<br />
<br />
First up is this sweet little number is known as the <a href="http://sewlikemymom.com/little-red-infinity-dress-tutorial/" target="_blank">Little Red Infinity Dress</a>; what I love about this dress is the versatility of it. There are so many fun ways you can wear it; also the tutorial is really easy to follow and there are great tips about adapting it to your own size.<br />
<br />
The tutorial belongs to the blog, <a href="http://sewlikemymom.com/" target="_blank">Sew Like My Mom</a> and the author, Melissa has a really great selection of sewing tutorials. I am going to be spending A LOT of time there this summer! :D Go check the tutorial, you won't be able to resist her other tutorials, be sure to say hi. :)<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://sewlikemymom.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/infinity-wrap-dress-11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="368" src="http://sewlikemymom.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/infinity-wrap-dress-11.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>

<br />
Next up is this super easy bohemian chic maxi dress. I realize that's a lot of adjectives, but believe me, they all fit! The dress, known as <a href="http://www.sew-much-ado.com/2011/08/soho-maxi-dress-tutorial.html" target="_blank">The Soho Maxi Dress</a>, is made of jersey knit fabric {like a t-shirt} and is going to be excellent to wear on the upcoming hot summer days. The tutorial shows the dress long, which in my opinion makes it perfect for chasing my kiddies around, but you can always shorten it! This one belongs to one of the first blogs I started following, <a href="http://www.sew-much-ado.com/" target="_blank">Sew Much Ado</a>, which also has some rather amazing tutorials as the author has been sewing since she was very young.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2ZCZbUNQxuIW5eA09PsdEiU6-svePfi1_CmdRhQa3KFh8dR1bTePBuhDIDwEUtKsQGHMHVS7kf_tqZgPTvyASv_44qNbkJSU840dDVrOOmnGhhv_70fw6naVHzhWhKOcy7ki_7KxIVaS_/s640/IMG_4088edit+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2ZCZbUNQxuIW5eA09PsdEiU6-svePfi1_CmdRhQa3KFh8dR1bTePBuhDIDwEUtKsQGHMHVS7kf_tqZgPTvyASv_44qNbkJSU840dDVrOOmnGhhv_70fw6naVHzhWhKOcy7ki_7KxIVaS_/s640/IMG_4088edit+copy.jpg" width="426" /></a></td></tr>

</tbody></table>
Last but not least is the <a href="http://projectsbyjess.blogspot.ca/2011/07/yellow-maxi-dress-from-vintage-sheet.html" target="_blank">Maxi Sheet Dress</a>, that is up-cycled from a vintage bed sheet. I mean how incredibly clever is that? I love anything vintage and this dress is just too awesome to pass by. You can get the <a href="https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B7cXPtPPB_0eMDZkY2M2NDMtYzhkMi00NWVmLTk5OTktOGZjZTVjYjA1YWYy&hl=en_US" target="_blank">Mini Maxi Tutorial</a> for free, but the <a href="http://projectsbyjess.blogspot.com/2007/01/maxi-sheet-dress-sewing-pattern.html" target="_blank">full one costs only $6.00</a>. Not bad considering you only need to spend a couple bucks for the fabric to make it! {I may or may not be headed to a thrift store later on} <a href="http://projectsbyjess.blogspot.ca/" target="_blank">Running With Scissors</a> is a great blog, I really identify with the author's need for creating, I think I would probably go insane with out. Don't forget to say hi for me when you drop by her spectacular blog! :)<br />

<span style="font-size: small;">I hope everyone had a GREAT Easter! </span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
I am getting ready to do a weekend wrap up and share all the fun things we did over the weekend and in doing so, I have been looking through my pictures. Then I realized something:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: red;"> ALL of them were taken with <a href="http://instagr.am/" target="_blank">Instagram</a></span>.</span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
I do own a camera, not a DSLR camera, but still a nice little canon. It used to by my constant companion and has all the scrapes and dents to prove it too.<br />
<br />
However, with finally joining the modern world only a few short weeks ago by getting an iPhone; it's safe to say that my little canon has been left at home a lot more in favor for the quick convenience of Instagraming {my new verb}.
When I find a new fad that I love, I really really obsess. I mean I know my kids will get fed... but I first gotta {blank}. An example of a past obsession might be <a href="http://www.jillianmichaels.com/" target="_blank">Jillian Michaels</a>;<br />
<br />
<div style="color: red; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">as soon as I found her <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Best-Deals-Jillian-Michaels-Exercise/lm/R336VU3C1C196I" target="_blank">super sweet workout videos</a>, I was stuck to those babies like a fat kid on cake!</span></div>
<div style="color: red; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I used them every single day for at least 2 months and looked great to prove it! {Now I can't say the same today as the new fad I have now is <a href="http://instagr.am/" target="_blank">Instagram</a>, which while equally addicting as Jillian Michaels is, doesn't quite provide the same benefits...}<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51x50+++R2L._SL500_AA300_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51x50+++R2L._SL500_AA300_.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This is my favorite right now, though I am dieing to try the new kickboxing one!!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
I guess the point is that I realized that I get quickly addicted to something, like when I first found Pinterest. Am I alone in this kind of addicting behavior, or are there more of you out there like me? <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Thanks for reading and commenting! It means the World to me!</div>

<br />
This post is originally inspired by Ashley over at <a href="http://www.littlemissmomma.com/" target="_blank">Little Miss Momma</a>. If you have never checked her blog out, you totally should. She is super creative but even more I love her candid honesty in all her posts. It is something that I am striving to do here on my blog as well.<br />
<br />
Anyways, on her fab blog she has a cute little post called <a href="http://www.littlemissmomma.com/category/real-life/love-story-real-life" target="_blank">Our Love Story</a>, and I find it absolutely charming. I remembered that while I was in college I had been asked to write an anecdote about something that had happened in my life. Coincidentally I chose to write about my first date with my then boyfriend - now husband. I thought I would share it all with you, plus I want to make sure that it doesn't get stuffed away and forgotten about. It was a long time ago!<br />
<br />
Enjoy and Let me know what you think!<br />
<br />
PS-- NO making fun of my Photos! They were taken with a good old point and shoot camera... likely even a one time use Kodak! <br />

The First Date.</div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%;">
<span lang="EN-US">A first date is a
funny thing. Of course it depends on the kind of first date you are having; the
blind date, the ‘third’ first date, or the first ‘real’ date you have after
‘seeing someone’ for a few weeks. Either way you look at the ‘first date’
situation, you can never really tell what will happen. All you can do is look
your best, keep your teeth clean, your breath fresh and pray that you say all
the right things at the right time. My ‘first date’ with him was no different.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%;">

afternoon and evening of my first real date with Brian, the hot new guy I had
been seeing. We had been ‘hanging out’ for about two weeks and were now ready
to leave the comfort of our friends behind and take the step of a real first
date. I was stoked; complete with butterflies, incoherent speech and wide eyes.</span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-indent: 36pt;">
<span lang="EN-US">We were making a double date of our first date with my roommate and
Brian’s friend, Doug. Waterton National Parks was our destination for the
afternoon and evening, (depending on how the day unfolded). I sat with my
roommate, Jessica, waiting for our strapping young men to arrive, wondering if
I smelled good enough and if I remembered to brush my teeth. Like any girl
interested in a guy, I was hoping the date would end well, with a kiss even.
After about a half hour, which felt like 10 hours, ‘the men’ pulled up. I
managed to calm my stomach enough to say a shaky hello, quickly followed by my
best smile. Brian smiled that breathtaking smile of his back and I fell back
again into butterflies and incoherent speech.</span></div>

and college/university. I hung onto his every word like a lioness watching her
prey. The subject didn’t matter as much to me and to be honest, I barely
remember any of it now!</span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-indent: 36.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US">The day and evening were passing like a dream; I was floating on
cloud nine the whole time. However, as night grew closer and as our final hike
up Bear’s Hump Mountain was coming to an end, my stomach retreated back to
butterflies and knots. What was I going to do at the top of the mountain? I
knew that was my best chance for a kiss. I wondered; should I make the first
move? Or would he? How would I know? I could feel my breath quicken at the
thought of our kiss. I realized that I had been expecting it now. My palms
became sweatier with each step, and then finally we were there, the top of the
mountain. I held my breath as I took in the view of the clear starry night sky,
amazed at how beautiful this place really was. From the top of the mountain I
could see Waterton’s entire glittering town site below. It seemed small in
comparison to the large shadows of the mountains surrounding it. I held my
breath in anticipation again as I followed Brian closer to the edge of the
mountain where he laid out our blanket and sat down. This was it, my chance, if any, was now. I
had to act.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 200%; text-indent: 36.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US">Taking a deep breath I sat down slowly as close to him as I could
and waited. Nothing happened, and a few awkward minutes passed and still
nothing. Then almost simultaneously we turned to each other and began the
awkward journey of moving our faces and lips closer and closer. I licked my
lips about 50 times I think, before mine finally met with his. We parted and
looked at each other for a few brief seconds before taking a deep breath and
going back in for more. I was hooked; our kiss was a world between the world of
the lights of the heavens above and the world of the lights of reality below. I
was caught in the middle and that was right where I wanted to be. </span></div>

I am constantly on the lookout for fun and creative ideas for the kids to do.<br />
<br />
Easter is such a fun holiday so rather than bookmark a million fun preschool ideas, I thought it would be better to just do a round up and keep them all in one place. Today I will start with Easter eggs. I was going to do a lot more than just that, but when I started looking for ideas, there were so many cool ones that I just couldn't leave out. <br />
<br />
Here are a few of my favorites from many, many, many unique ideas. Some are more preschool friendly than others, which just means you might need to help your kiddos out more.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://familyfun.go.com/easter/easter-crafts/egg-decorating-ideas-843997/#Dye-ving%20Dudes;1" target="_blank"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://familyfun.go.com/assets/cms/crafts/dye-ving-dudes-craft-photo-420-FF0411EGG_A05.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://familyfun.go.com/easter/easter-egg-decorating/dyeving-dudes-1002013/" target="_blank">Unique ways to decorate over at Family Fun</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These little guys are so dang cute! They are probably harder for preschool kids; if you have everything cut to size and ready to go, then it would make the process much faster. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.delish.com/cm/delish/images/pz/easter-egg-080325-xl.jpg" width="320" /> Lots of Great Easter Egg Ideas Here! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love the idea of using different media to decorate eggs. These seem a bit trickier for preschool kids too, however, substitute the fancy ribbon for foam stickers and it's an all around crowd pleaser! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Check it out right now! By the way, it looks tricky, but kids can easily help paint the eggs!</div>

<a href="http://www.rd.com/slideshows/unique-egg-decorating-ideas/#slideshow=slide9" target="_blank">Another source of more than one way to decorate eggs.</a> This is a super fun way for kids to decorate them though while also discussing feelings, and fine-tuning their fine motor skills!</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">At long last my wreath is done and hangs proudly on my front door! </span></div>
<div style="color: purple;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span> </span></div>
Not going to lie to you guys, I totally thought this was a project that I could whip up while the kids were napping one day. Boy was I wrong! At least I am optimistic! lol Being optimistic made me actually do the project. If I had known it was going to take so long, I may have put it off until Spring was over or even later!<br />
<br />
Anyways, now onto the tutorial! I know there are a lot of different wreath tutorials out there, so I hope that mine doesn't get lost in crowd and provides something a little different.<br />
<div style="color: #38761d;">
<span style="font-size: large;">First the finished image:</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKMqgEg_fj2joZ2at59D3NBa40_DW1pbFVwZik2sA26hwIVVsxTS_7dk0JsSwBKybJ0JrvHEqTkeD0v0VVVoauuGCXrdNT_1C2XrjfpCmUUiImghEMwrJeBmctxfw1C_smXpqsOPhAqNjD/s1600/Wreath+finished+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="380" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKMqgEg_fj2joZ2at59D3NBa40_DW1pbFVwZik2sA26hwIVVsxTS_7dk0JsSwBKybJ0JrvHEqTkeD0v0VVVoauuGCXrdNT_1C2XrjfpCmUUiImghEMwrJeBmctxfw1C_smXpqsOPhAqNjD/s400/Wreath+finished+2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="color: black;">
So that all of you get some inspiration... Now I am totally worried I scared you all off by saying it took me longer than I thought. It will be worth it, I promise! This project is super easy to do; even for all you people who think you are not crafty at all. {Which you are, you just don't know it}</div>
<br />
<div style="color: #38761d;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Step 1 Gather Supplies</span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">Here is the list of what you need for this project; pretty basic and easy to find supplies:</span></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI8ggPpfQyb54mBS3CW7bo-x8wsCUDP4R0MW_BNfQx62atHt2AXPatgHxN-2dUbrBNImuQg4ffmITcf4fyWG8gSSMAYWInYpyGEAM4K91x6PzbYZvGP6SOseiPeYHZ-tUz3cZqsp9Ub6xa/s1600/supplies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="295" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI8ggPpfQyb54mBS3CW7bo-x8wsCUDP4R0MW_BNfQx62atHt2AXPatgHxN-2dUbrBNImuQg4ffmITcf4fyWG8gSSMAYWInYpyGEAM4K91x6PzbYZvGP6SOseiPeYHZ-tUz3cZqsp9Ub6xa/s400/supplies.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;">yarn</span> or another media (such as fabric) you can find to wrap your wreath form {mine are from a thrift store}</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;">a 17" Styrofoam wreath form</span>, I found mine at <a href="http://www.michaels.com/white-styrofoam-wreaths/fl1374,default,pd.html?cgid=products-floral-accessories-styrofoam&start=2" target="_blank">Michael's</a>, and afterwards I found one at a thrift store, so check there too!</span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span>Silk Flowers</span> for decoration, {I used a variety of sizes of Daisies} also found at <a href="http://www.michaels.com/ashland-spring-printed-daisy-stems/fl1357,default,pd.html" target="_blank">Michael's</a></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Glue Gun and Glue</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Flower Centers</span>, I love using Earrings, Buttons, Brooches or Beads again check your local thrift store before buying new</li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Step 2 Start Wrapping Yarn</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span>1. To prep yarn, make sure it is in a tightly wound ball, or else you may end up like I did and have to spend half your time untieing knots! {Sorry for the bad pictures! My camera isn't very fancy!}<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi92nQeEzafoDiCe-kR8mytayq5I7IrFIyCurzDU0Mdche1g9B8VxPDIBlfwpm8awSRWegmJ560MeH4HzuDmY-ZL5ZkxtxNlwBUyF5SJ3mNbkwZl0tFK63eFNDEcxL7DacBnIlinJZdYCMv/s1600/how+to+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="334" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi92nQeEzafoDiCe-kR8mytayq5I7IrFIyCurzDU0Mdche1g9B8VxPDIBlfwpm8awSRWegmJ560MeH4HzuDmY-ZL5ZkxtxNlwBUyF5SJ3mNbkwZl0tFK63eFNDEcxL7DacBnIlinJZdYCMv/s640/how+to+1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
2.When the glue gun is hot, make a thin strip of glue on the back of the wreath. Place an end of the yarn onto the hot glue and press down until yarn is secure. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
3. Start wrapping the yarn then keep wrapping and wrapping and wrapping... somewhat like the energizer bunny! lol I found wrapping the yarn somewhat tedious as I bore easily, so I wrapped in all directions. I thought it would add some nice texture, which it did.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
4. If you run out of yarn half way through wrapping {or if the yarn gets tangled enough you have to cut if and start again} simply repeat #3.Then keep going until your wreath is even and covered so you don't see any Styrofoam underneath.<br />
<br />
5. Secure the last end of the yarn to the back of the wreath using your glue gun.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLHPkhgItFPb-2hmFAGVE2FYJ3tHVU-IgRv_Dgf54NXtj597n9fIVnKi5crEYTrcirvJ88O7Cc-hbxv2b-3dZ9GotvYcN061bu5KrYEzsY6Gxf6YA4hzSrfVtx3KI-6NqUrr0knDzTEx7j/s1600/finished+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="377" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLHPkhgItFPb-2hmFAGVE2FYJ3tHVU-IgRv_Dgf54NXtj597n9fIVnKi5crEYTrcirvJ88O7Cc-hbxv2b-3dZ9GotvYcN061bu5KrYEzsY6Gxf6YA4hzSrfVtx3KI-6NqUrr0knDzTEx7j/s400/finished+1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;">Step 3 The Fun Part</span><span style="color: #38761d;"> </span><br />
1. Now that the tedious work is over, the fun can begin! Pull out your silk flowers, peel them apart and re-glue them together, ending with your new center on top {I will have a tutorial on this soon too).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU2oiJYji5DVM1_TeK1IGsd8HyGKRP0hAspSmMapkfQPP-rjWZ1tagZu-2Pp2ZrbQOPC7WwiKW3HdefwcmOOfnJd4zc3Dg8_pZsaCaxWWap3MHvRNde1ONOWFUWMaoyub_5XGQBjiSLHpG/s1600/image+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU2oiJYji5DVM1_TeK1IGsd8HyGKRP0hAspSmMapkfQPP-rjWZ1tagZu-2Pp2ZrbQOPC7WwiKW3HdefwcmOOfnJd4zc3Dg8_pZsaCaxWWap3MHvRNde1ONOWFUWMaoyub_5XGQBjiSLHpG/s400/image+1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
2. Now start playing with the way they look on your wreath until you get what you like. It took me 2 days to do this as I am super duper indecisive.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Hey Everyone!</span></div>
Sorry for the lapse in appearrance lately. It was for a good reason, I promise! Reasons which you will see throughout the coming week!<br />
<br />
I am trying something new with this blog. Namely, I would like to be more organized; this will be difficult for me as I am rarely so. Therefore, ahead of time, I am thanking you for your patience while I work out all the kinks. <br />
<br />
<br />
A few other changes I will be making in the near future will inlcude trying to stick to a planned day for a topic. This may not last long! lol I still want to try though. Right now my mind is full of great things to blog about, but without rhyme or reason. Having a specific day for a specific type of topic is my start at this so called organization.<br />
<div style="background-color: white; color: #e06666;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #e06666;">
<span style="font-size: large;">So if you have any great advice or can share what has worked for you, PLEASE do! I appreciate all the help I can get!</span></div>
<br />
In other news, this morning I was watching the <a href="https://www.lds.org/general-conference/watch/2012/04?lang=eng&vid=1538843470001" target="_blank">LDS General Conference</a> and heard this phrase spoken by <a href="https://www.lds.org/search?lang=eng&query=dieter+f+uchtdorf" target="_blank">Dieter F. Uchtdorf</a> (Second Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church). I absolutley love it and will be saying in my head over and over:<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #3d85c6;">
<i><span style="font-size: large;">"There is enough heartache and sorrow in this life without our adding to it through our own stubborness, bitterness and resentment. We are not perfect ... the people around us are not perfect"</span></i> </div>
<br />
I really love that quote because I often feel like I can get caught up "assuming" that I know what someone is really going through. To put it in a perspective that says I am only adding to the 'heartache and sorrow' really hit me. I don't want to be that person and never thought I was until just now. Throughout the next week I am going to strive harder to be a little less judgemental and a little more helpful. I encourage you to do the same! Maybe by the end of the week we talk about how it felt.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thanks for reading and commenting! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
XOXO</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Still No Wreath!</span></div>
<br />
I am frustrated by this! I started it during naptime yesterday and thought to myself; <i style="color: red;">This is the perfect project! It will only take a few hours, I can whip it up in no time!</i><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Boy was I wrong!! </span></div>
<br />
I just about have it finished now, <span style="color: red;">but wrapping that dang wreath was a real pain! </span>Mostly because the yarn kept gettting knotted. Plus the yarn I decided to use was small, something I didn't realize in the beginning. The bright side is that it is creating a different kind of chaotic look as I am way too impatient to let the yarn wrap neatly. It is my life's mission to get that thing done today! Ok maybe it's just more of a goal, but still, I want it done!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
In other news, my dear friend Sarah had a sweet little baby boy not too long ago. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">He almost made me baby hungry again! YIKES! </span><span style="font-size: large;"> </span> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That would not be good, but I don't know if it would be bad either....</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Anywho, I am having a baby shower for her this Thursday at my house and I am pretty excited since I get to try my hand at making party printables. I already made the invitation {see below} and I would love to make something too match. The only problem is however, that other than cupcake toppers, I am not sure what!?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHkQg3XQY5KnqaJuO0LKn0UtdeoW9pYsNK_kerE2b1byiPcRjiHT9I6HGQkkBVEULJDBFUG8HFpRp-VyP8Daipg1nQT9V8m4arSEVbrb-r8Nk5mIEDrh3zbOvbMHVL0UslfSa9sahtmo2T/s1600/BABY+invite+Example+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHkQg3XQY5KnqaJuO0LKn0UtdeoW9pYsNK_kerE2b1byiPcRjiHT9I6HGQkkBVEULJDBFUG8HFpRp-VyP8Daipg1nQT9V8m4arSEVbrb-r8Nk5mIEDrh3zbOvbMHVL0UslfSa9sahtmo2T/s320/BABY+invite+Example+1.jpg" width="228" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Since this is really the first baby shower I have given I am asking you all for some help. <span style="color: red;">What was the best baby shower you went to?</span> <span style="color: purple;">What did they do?</span> <span style="color: #38761d;">How was it decorated?</span></span><br />
<br />
In my usual late fashion, I am leaving this to the last second, so any help you can all offer would be awesome!<br />
<br />
Thanks for reading and your input! Please don't forget to comment! :) I Love each and every one that is left! ;)<br />

Unfortunatly that has to be postponed for a little while.<br />
<br />
On Monday, my Step Grandpa passed away, and as a tribute to him and my Grandma, I made her a Subway Art instead (as seen below). What the Subway Art consist of is all the names of all the grandkids they had together, a total of 25 grandkids (plus their spouses) and 3 great grandkids. My Grandmas name is Madeline and my step Grandpas name is Mark. When they met and were dating, they got the nickname M&M, because of their two first name initials. It stuck! At their wedding, the favors were M&M's and from then on whenever anyone referred to them, it was through that nickname. <br />

<br />
I didn't know my step Grandpa very well, but after the passing of my 'real' Grandpa, Mark came in like a champ and breathed a breath of fresh air into my Grandma's life. She was like a spring chick all over again and even broke her leg when quading with him once! He will be missed and I am sad that I never was able to show him this as I know he would have loved it!<br />
<br />
Now, as you can see I have 3 different backgrounds. I am going to get this printed for my Grandma, but I don`t know which one I should do. What one is your favorite?<br />
<br />
Thanks for Reading!<br />

<span class="body">I found this qoute this morning while browsing some of my favorite blogs, this one came from a button on a link to the <a href="http://thequeenbeemarket.com/" target="_blank">Queen Bee Market</a> from the Blog <a href="http://thirtyhandmadedays.com/" target="_blank">Thirty Handmade Days</a>; it is a GREAT blog and I hope to be like Mique when I grow up! Anyway, I am adopting this quote as my new mantra!!!</span><br />

<br />
I had high aspirations of writing in this blog EVERYDAY, but that hasn`t happened. One of the biggest reasons for this is that I am still trying to figure out what exactly is the best time for me to write. I am writing this post in the morning, but I wrote the last one in the middle of the night, ok it was more like 11 pm.<br />
<div style="color: #cc0000;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #cc0000; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Sometimes I feel like I have nothing to say, or rather that I have nothing to say that would interest anyone! </span></div>

I am sure that there are many out there who feel the same way. Sometimes thinking this will keep my from my blog, as I fear of what you all might think. Then I gently remind myself that I am writing this blog for me first; it`s my place to vent, organize my thoughts, crafts, ideas and whatever else comes to my mind! Eventually I would love to have a gigantore (I made that up) collection of craft tutorials. Right now, crafting, sewing, and designing is what keeps me sane. Every once in a while, I think I would like to stop all that and just go to the spa instead of spending my money on fabric or other supplies, then the thought passes as I realize I will have nothing to show for it.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: #cc0000; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">For me, seeing something I`ve made is the greatest accomplishment. </span></div>
<br />
It just makes me feel better at any time of day, not just for a few hours. Not that there is anything wrong with going to the spa too! It just doesn`t work for me!<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Anyways, I plan on working on a cute yarn wreath I saw on <a href="http://pinterest.com/periwinklepixie/" target="_blank">Pinterest</a> today and I hope to have it finished and published on here no later than tomorrow! More on that in the near future!</span><br />
<br />
Keep your Chin Up and Stay Positive!<br />

I am super duper excited to start this one off and I have some pretty big plans for it too.<br />
<br />
I am using this blog primarily as a means to be more honest with myself and the way I tend to feel about my life as it happens. Some of these feelings include, my depression, being a mom, being a stay at home mom, trying to keep up creatively, finding time for me and so on. For the most part, none of this is new to many of you, as I suspect that there are a few out there who feel the same as I do.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The truth however,</span> is that I have a hard time admitting to myself the true feelings I have surrounding the afore mentioned. I like to live in a Utopian world, where everything is hunky dory all the time. This just isn't true. Not that it is a bad thing, it's just, you know, a thing. I decided that if I was going to make my life better, and I really want to, that I was going to have to do a little more about it than just wish, hope and wait for that Utopian World to come. That is where this blog comes in. It is intended to be my honest outlet for everything in my life; the good, the bad, and the ugly. So take it or leave it, but accept that I am being as honest here as a person can be.<br />
<br />
One of my new favorite quotes is:<br />
<div style="color: blue; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">"Happiness does not depend on what happens outside of you, but what happens inside of you"</span></div>
(given by Harold B. Lee, former President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints)<br />
<br />
To celebrate this new blog and a new chapter of happiness in my life, I am giving away a 12x12 image of this quote to be used personally. Most who know me, know that I love graphic design and that I have an etsy shop where I like to display it. (Come by and say Hi sometime!)<br />
