Good Morning Friends!

Thanks for joining me on my blog. I know I don't have a lot of followers yet, but I want to show you all how much I appreciate you for your support by giving you a sneak peak into my newest series.

I also have a question....

What Quote is the most motivational to you and why?

I am finishing a new series of Subway Arts using all motivational quotes. I have a whack load of  quotes but I feel like something is missing. Who knows, maybe it's your quote? ;)

If I use the quote you submit, I will give you a free printable that is size 16x20! {Or whatever size you want}

Now onto the freebie! :) Here is one version of my motivational subway art. It is 11x14 so enjoy!

A New Day Has Come!

Hey Everyone!
Sorry for the lapse in appearrance lately. It was for a good reason, I promise! Reasons which you will see throughout the coming week!

I am trying something new with this blog. Namely, I would like to be more organized; this will be difficult for me as I am rarely so. Therefore, ahead of time, I am thanking you for your patience while I work out all the kinks.

A few other changes I will be making in the near future will inlcude trying to stick to a planned day for a topic. This may not last long! lol I still want to try though. Right now my mind is full of great things to blog about, but without rhyme or reason. Having a specific day for a specific type of topic is my start at this so called organization.

So if you have any great advice or can share what has worked for you, PLEASE do! I appreciate all the help I can get!

In other news, this morning I was watching the LDS General Conference and heard this phrase spoken by Dieter F. Uchtdorf (Second Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church). I absolutley love it and will be saying in my head over and over:

"There is enough heartache and sorrow in this life without our adding to it through our own stubborness, bitterness and resentment. We are not perfect ... the people around us are not perfect"

I really love that quote because I often feel like I can get caught up "assuming" that I know what someone is really going through. To put it in a perspective that says I am only adding to the 'heartache and sorrow' really hit me. I don't want to be that person and never thought I was until just now. Throughout the next week I am going to strive harder to be a little less judgemental and a little more helpful. I encourage you to do the same! Maybe by the end of the week we talk about how it felt.

Thanks for reading and commenting!
XOXO

Emily Dickinson and Creating Beauty

Morning Sunshine!

I found this qoute this morning while browsing some of my favorite blogs, this one came from a button on a link to the Queen Bee Market from the Blog Thirty Handmade Days; it is a GREAT blog and I hope to be like Mique when I grow up! Anyway, I am adopting this quote as my new mantra!!!

Let the Beauty we Love, Be what We do!
Emily Dickinson

I had high aspirations of writing in this blog EVERYDAY, but that hasn`t happened. One of the biggest reasons for this is that I am still trying to figure out what exactly is the best time for me to write. I am writing this post in the morning, but I wrote the last one in the middle of the night, ok it was more like 11 pm.

Sometimes I feel like I have nothing to say, or rather that I have nothing to say that would interest anyone!

I am sure that there are many out there who feel the same way. Sometimes thinking this will keep my from my blog, as I fear of what you all might think. Then I gently remind myself that I am writing this blog for me first; it`s my place to vent, organize my thoughts, crafts, ideas and whatever else comes to my mind! Eventually I would love to have a gigantore (I made that up) collection of craft tutorials. Right now, crafting, sewing, and designing is what keeps me sane. Every once in a while, I think I would like to stop all that and just go to the spa instead of spending my money on fabric or other supplies, then the thought passes as I realize I will have nothing to show for it.

For me, seeing something I`ve made is the greatest accomplishment.

It just makes me feel better at any time of day, not just for a few hours. Not that there is anything wrong with going to the spa too! It just doesn`t work for me!

Anyways, I plan on working on a cute yarn wreath I saw on Pinterest today and I hope to have it finished and published on here no later than tomorrow! More on that in the near future!

Keep your Chin Up and Stay Positive!

The Truth: Confession Time!

So Welcome to my New Blog!!!
I am super duper excited to start this one off and I have some pretty big plans for it too.

I am using this blog primarily as a means to be more honest with myself and the way I tend to feel about my life as it happens. Some of these feelings include, my depression, being a mom, being a stay at home mom, trying to keep up creatively, finding time for me and so on. For the most part, none of this is new to many of you, as I suspect that there are a few out there who feel the same as I do.

The truth however, is that I have a hard time admitting to myself the true feelings I have surrounding the afore mentioned. I like to live in a Utopian world, where everything is hunky dory all the time. This just isn't true. Not that it is a bad thing, it's just, you know, a thing. I decided that if I was going to make my life better, and I really want to, that I was going to have to do a little more about it than just wish, hope and wait for that Utopian World to come. That is where this blog comes in. It is intended to be my honest outlet for everything in my life; the good, the bad, and the ugly. So take it or leave it, but accept that I am being as honest here as a person can be.

One of my new favorite quotes is:
"Happiness does not depend on what happens outside of you, but what happens inside of you"
(given by Harold B. Lee, former President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints)

To celebrate this new blog and a new chapter of happiness in my life, I am giving away a 12x12 image of this quote to be used personally. Most who know me, know that I love graphic design and that I have an etsy shop where I like to display it. (Come by and say Hi sometime!)

You can find the Image HERE. Or simply right click and Download yourself. If you have any problems with either, then please just let me know and I will be happy to email you a copy! :)

Thanks for Reading and I hope you stick around :)
